Jess wrote "Love Never Fades" for Roimata.

At the time, she was trying to put into words what our relationship meant to her and how love can continue to grow through all of life's seasons. What started as a personal song between us eventually became the title track of our debut EP.

Like the other songs on the EP, it was written from our own experiences and the life we share together. We have always found it easiest to write from what we know, and for us that means writing honestly about love, connection and the lessons we learn along the way.

When we perform this song, we're reminded of where it began a simple expression of love from one partner to another. Our hope is that listeners can find a little of their own story in it too.

"Step by Step" came from a season of reflection on growth, purpose and learning to trust the journey.

Like many of our songs, it started as a conversation. We found ourselves thinking about how often life asks us to keep moving forward without knowing exactly where the path will lead. Sometimes all we can do is take the next step and trust that it will be enough.

Having Dal Jones join us on the track felt like a natural fit. His contribution brought another perspective to the song and helped shape the message we wanted to share.

For us, "Step By Step" is a reminder that growth doesn't happen overnight. It happens in the small decisions, the lessons we learn, and the courage to keep showing up even when the road ahead isn't clear.

Roimata wrote "Profound" for Jess.

At the time, Roimata wanted to write something simple and honest about what it feels like to love someone deeply and to recognise the value of having that person beside you.

The word "profound" felt like the right way to describe that feeling when someone's presence impacts your life in a way that is difficult to fully explain, but impossible to ignore.

Like much of our music, the song wasn't written to be complicated. It was written from a real place, capturing the joy, affection and appreciation we have for one another. Looking back, it became another chapter in the story we continue to tell through our songs writing about love through our own lived experiences and sharing those moments through music.
